There are lots of different promotional strategies out there, using Squidoo, using social bookmarking sites, article marketing, using sites like MySpace, using videos etc. But these methods are often easy to try, but difficult to master.
Trying to learn and master each of these promotional tactics is extremely difficult. Fortunately portalfeeder.com is packed with advanced training from a variety of Portal Feeder mentors.
Each of these mentors brings their own skills to the table which they gladly share with the Portal Feeder community.
They have put together a variety of advanced training booklets which you can use as a shortcut to master different promotional, monetization and site-building tactics.
I’ll briefly discuss a couple of my favorites:
Blog Automation
One of the PortalFeeder.com members, Andrew Wilson, has become somewhat of an expert at creating automated, and semi-automated blogs.
These aren’t spam sites, but carefully structured blogs than can run for a long time with little or no intervention from their owner.
I’m not a 100% fan of this as making a blog full automated limits its quality and unique features.
However, from the advanced training material and the frequent posts that Andrew Wilson has made I have implemented a number of his strategies (mixed with my own) to streamline my blogs and increase their potential.
Web 2.0 Mayhem | Social Marketing
This is by far the best thing that has come out of Portalfeeder.com since I joined. It is a step-by-step guide to utilizing the power of social bookmarking sites and community sites.
I was already implementing this strategy to an extent myself, but then Jason Katzenback of Portal Feeder posted the Web 2.0 mayhem promotion manual and I was overwhelmed with excitement!
It takes you through how to use a variety of social bookmarking and community sites in a subtle and interconnected way that will literally explode your traffic.
It also works within the guidelines and rules of the various community sites, so you are keeping their community happy too.
I’ve seen some awesome results for boosting search engine traffic and rankings using the techniques in the web 2.0 mayhem training manual.
