Awesome Adwords Adcopy Tips | Creating PPC Ads With High CTR

Friday, November 30th, 2007

Adwords AdCopy TipsI just came across an awesome post from GoogleLady full of great tips on improving your ad copy.

These small changes to your Adwords Ads and other Pay Per Click Ads can bring a much higher Click Through Rate (CTR) and conversion ratio, consequently increasing your profit margins.

I’m personally going to keep that post very handy and use it to help me brainstorm when writing my ads. I’ve used most of these techniques at some point after continuous experimentation, but it’s often hard to remember them all when I’m sat there trying to write my ad.

There was one subtle change in there which I had not thought of before…

  • Using "Change" instead of "Changes". For example:

    - Secret PowerShake: Change Your State of Mind.
    is more effective than:
    - Secret PowerShake Changes Your State of Mind.

This can be used with other words like "washes", "cleans", fixes" etc. This will of course vary from campaign to campaign so always test both variations to see which is best.

The 5 Biggest Mistakes I Made When Starting My Online Business

Friday, November 16th, 2007

Erase MistakesCreating a sustainable income online did not come instantly for me when I first started out a few years ago. You often hear lots of people touting their success stories of how they made thousands of dollars in just one month.

Whether some of these are true or not I don’t know – but it certainly didn’t happen for me.

However, I could have made my life a whole lot easier by avoiding these mistakes.

1. Too Many Ideas.

The internet is full of opportunities to take a bite at, and my eyes were too big for my belly and I bit off more than I could chew.

I always found myself writing down ideas, researching them, and deciding how to implement the idea, but then never actually implementing the idea because I was already too busy.

Now I just make a very quick note in my ideas folder and leave it at that. When it is time to expand or start a new project – I just open up the ideas folder for inspiration.

65 Website Traffic & Link Building Techniques

Thursday, November 15th, 2007

Website TrafficWhen I have the time to poke my head around some of the webmaster and money making forums out there I frequently see two things.

  1. People wondering how they can increase traffic to their site.
  2. People who don’t have a lot of experience giving other inexperienced people advice on increasing traffic.

This often leads to people following the wrong advice, and then feeding it to other people.

So I’ve decided to compile a list of 65 site traffic & link building techniques.

Getting traffic to your website should not be a problem – it just takes time and effort and it won’t happen if you sit there doing nothing.

65 Traffic Building Techniques:

  1. Write something great about your niche and email other bloggers to let them know – there’s a good chance they’ll link to you.
  2. Have a signature link in forums that points to your site.
  3. Post links to your pages to social bookmarking sites.

I know that many of you will be itching to know what effect some of the Portal Feeder promotional strategies and tools have had. Here are a couple for your to bite into:

PortalFeeder Example of the Blog Network Power

Trick Up Your SleevePortal Feeder 2 members are always boasting examples on how this has improved their rankings. I am one of them!

You can read about the Portal Feeder blog network in this post.

Using this process I have seen some great results. One example of success is where I managed to bring a 2-word term that I was ranking on page 2 of Google into the top ten. This is a hugely competitive term that has 1.5 billion pages in the results.

I’m now currently in the number 7 spot and it brings an extra 1000 visitors a month to my site from Google.

And that’s just 1 term!!

The difference from being on page 1 to page 2 is huge and I’m now using more portalfeeder promotional techniques to push myself even higher.

Unfortunately I can’t reveal the niche or the word because I know people will jump all over it.

Portal Feeder SupportI wanted to quickly mention how happy I have been with the Portal Feeder support team. Whenever I’ve sent a question into the support team I’ve always received a reply within 24 hours.

In addition to this any questions I have posted in the PortalFeeder forum I’ve always got a quick answer and good advice.

That is the reason why Portal Feeder is, for 99% of the year, closed to the public. They look after their existing members first, rather than adding new ones.

Play VideoI just thought I’d quickly mention the overwhelming number of helpful videos that you will find within the PortalFeeder site.

The Portal Feeder admin (Jason Potash, Jason Katzenback, Marc Quarles and others) are frequently creating videos, webinars and podcasts discussing beginner and advanced internet marketing, website creation and online business topics.

Almost all the training in PortalFeeder is backed up by videos which guide you through how to use the PF v2.0 software, and how to do a variety of promotional tasks, and things like setting up a blog.

Jason Potash, Jason Katzenback and Marc Quarles often hold regular webinars (video conferences) to chat with the Portal Feeder members, answer questions, offer advice and let people know what is going on.

These can all be downloaded at a later date if you can’t attend the actual webinar.

Unfortunately you probably won’t find me at these webinars as I’m usually to busy to attend.

How Do I get in Portal Feeder

PortalFeeder is currently closed to the public but I’d like to an extend an invite to you to join the priority alert list to find out when it will re-open.

Portalfeeder BeefHere is my main beef with portalfeeder.com – they have all this great training on promoting your site, building your website and solid tools to go with it.

However, they do lack on two things:
